I dislike the Alto, I have a SX90, and did not care at all for the Soprano's. The 62 can be pretty bright depending on your disposition and the era of the sax. The 82Z is a darker sound than the 62 and blows a lot freer than the SX90. All 3 are good, usable saxes and solid for learning on. I currently have 4 of them among about 70 horns. The alto that gets the most play is a 1927 True Tone. The smallest change in the bore/ inner diameter/ wall thickness of a bow or neck can make a HUGE difference in how a sax sounds. Play two saxophones (well set up) from the late 1930's and make some notes on what you felt behind the horn.
